42

Gosh, those swell MLB do-gooders are at it again. If you visited MLB.com today, you'd note that they're putting up some game-worn number 42 jerseys from Jackie Robinson Day--jerseys worn by the likes of Griffey, Sabathia, and Ortiz, among others. All proceeds go to the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which, you may have gathered, doesn't see a whole hell of a lot of support from anyone in the Major Leagues since Rachel Robinson had to use the occasion two Sundays ago to make a plea for donations.

I'm sure this auction will raise more than a couple dollars for charity, but just in case you don't win, you might have noticed that every single MLB team has been selling 42 jerseys in their online store since Griffey's idea blossomed into a full-blown epidemic of empty gestures from San Diego to Toronto. The jerseys cost a whopping $249.99 each.

And where do the proceeds for those jerseys go, you opportunistic fucks?
